US allocates $24.5m to Ukraine to strengthen border with Russia and Belarus

Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service has registered a $20 million international technical assistance project as aid from the US

According to their information, the assistance will be aimed at “the security of Ukraine’s northern and eastern borders”.

The project will be implemented during 2022. The allocated funds will be used for priority needs of the border units. It is about modern means of video fixation, drones, individual protection of border guards, reinforcement of transport and communication means.

All of the above will be given to the border guard units that are on the border with Russia and Belarus.

An additional $4.5 million will be allocated to increase the capacity of the State Border Guard Service, which is used in border management and the development of remote surveillance systems.
