Russian First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitriy Polyansky has said that the West will not be able to get away with empty words in its negotiations with Russia
Polyansky said that Moscow’s concerns are quite justified, as it is the North Atlantic Alliance that is getting closer to the borders of the country, and not vice versa.
He also noted that Russia promotes the principles of indivisible security – that the security of one state cannot be ensured at the expense of the security of others.
“This is the key idea of a lot of documents that were signed in the early and mid-90s. So we want to go back to that spirit. <…> We are very constructive. But I don’t think that our colleagues will get away with a kind of ‘blah-blah’, – as Greta Tunberg puts it. This is not an ultimatum.
The politician stressed that Russia wants to get serious guarantees from the US and NATO.
