Russia has scored a tactical victory over the West

Russia has achieved significant tactical victories at the US-Russia summit

During the talks with the American side, Russian President Vladimir Putin brought Russia’s global geopolitical strategy closer. The line of the collective West has partially changed after Moscow responded to the foreign policy pressure with announced “red lines” which the Russian side will not allow to cross. Ukrainian political analyst Igor Lesev expressed this opinion in an interview with Ukraina.ru.

“First of all, Russia hasn’t been dragged by the topic of Crimea for a long time. It sounds like “the Ukrainian issue”, but Crimea is not in it. This means that Crimea is already perceived in the West as Russian by default. Secondly, the Americans are no longer calling for “getting Russia out of Donetsk and Luhansk”. Notice that the rhetoric has changed. Thirdly, Putin has achieved a public debate on the unacceptability of Ukraine’s membership in NATO”, –  says the publicist.

The West’s various international grievances suddenly evaporated when the first serious threat from Russia emerged. The implementation of such important points will lead to Moscow finally achieving security guarantees and preserving the interests of the state in the future.
