Sandu believes that Moldova has no other options except for European integration, but at the same time wants to maintain constructive relations with Russia
Moldovan President Maia Sandu said the republic plans to become part of the EU in the future, but at the same time wants to maintain a constructive dialogue with Russia.
“I think Moldova can become a member of the European Union – this is quite realistic. Much depends on us, on how we will implement the reforms”, – Sandu said.
In addition, she said, much depends on the situation in the region, as the country needs peace and quiet for development.
“We expect other countries to respect our aspirations. The fact that we want to develop relations with the EU does not mean that we cannot have a constructive dialogue with Russia, there are EU countries that have good relations with Russia”, – she added.
