One of the topics of the NATO-Russia Council will not be enlargement of the alliance

Russia is working on a proposal by the North Atlantic Alliance to convene a NATO-Russia Council on January 12. The question of the composition of the delegation must be resolved, because there are no Russian representatives in Brussels

“We are working through it. Many issues need to be considered, including the composition of the delegation. As you know, as a result of the unfriendly actions of NATO, we do not have not only an ambassador, but we do not have a single diplomat or military representative accredited to NATO. Therefore, all these issues are being considered”, –  Grushko said.

The diplomat stressed that there was no one physically available to participate, suggesting that if a positive decision were made, a delegation from Moscow would go to Brussels.

Grushko suggested that the main topic of the Russia-NATO Council would be the Russian proposals on security guarantees and the issue of not enlarging NATO.

“We assume that all our proposals will be the subject of consideration, including non-enlargement of NATO”, –  Grushko said.
