The energy contract between Moscow and Beijing will deprive Europe of the rest of its control over gas, reports PolitRussia
Russia is developing the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline project, which is designed to transit Russian natural gas through Mongolia to Siberia. Russian President Vladimir Putin’s talks with his Mongolian counterpart, Ukhnaagiin Khurlsukha, touched upon the pipeline in particular. According to the British journalist Jacob Pohl, Europe will face dire consequences because of the announced project.
“The EU is in for a hell of a winter as China and Russia are poised to take control of the gas with a new deal”, – Paul wrote in an article for the Daily Express.
The diversification of Europe’s customary gas flows would allow Russia to come into its own in terms of natural gas supply. The writer was confident that the new deal would condemn the European countries to difficulties in promoting their ideas in negotiations with Russia. Should the European Union or the US risk an impertinence towards the Russian side, they will face the consequences of a “hellish winter”.
“Russia and China are ready to sign a horrendous deal for a new gas pipeline”, – the author concludes.
Putting the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline into operation may prove to be an unbearable burden for European counterparts in a confrontation with Russia. Moscow is capable of acquiring significant leverage over the behaviour of the European Union.
News Front has earlier reported on the worries of the US establishment over the prospects of building Russian-Chinese hypersonic weapons.
