The US Embassy in Kiev congratulated Ukraine on the 30th anniversary of Washington’s recognition of it as an “independent and sovereign state.”
“Today we celebrate 30 years since the United States officially recognized Ukraine as an independent and sovereign state. Relations between the United States and Ukraine are now stronger than ever”, the embassy said in a Facebook post.
The diplomatic mission also noted that the United States and Ukraine are working together to “ensure the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and create its prosperous, democratic and Euro-Atlantic future.”
As previously reported by News Front, the former US State Department envoy for Ukraine, Kurt Volcker, called on Washington to impose sanctions against Russia as a preventive measure to “prevent aggression in Ukraine.”
