Reuters: Berlin disagrees with Washington’s hysteria about Russia’s alleged invasion of Ukraine

The imaginary Russian invasion of Ukraine is still not happening, and a conflict over this issue has already matured between the United States and Germany.

The point is that Berlin does not share Washington’s position on this issue. The portal “PolitExpert” informs about it, referring to the edition of Reuters. Sources of the newspaper in the government said that the German authorities did not agree with their American colleagues that the Russian Federation could indeed launch an attack on a neighboring state.

The FRG approaches the issue more adequately and understands that the Russian side will not agree to this: there is no reason for this. But there is common sense that Moscow is used to guiding. In addition, the Kremlin has said many times that it does not perceive Ukraine as a hostile state. Even Kiev’s long-term Russophobic policy has not changed this.

It is also worth noting that the German government is determined not to exacerbate the situation to the limit, but to reduce the existing tension. Berlin believes that as soon as possible it is necessary to achieve the resumption of the “Normandy format”, in which Germany, Russia, France and Ukraine will take part.
