The lack of proper managerial experience of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky can lead to a full-scale armed confrontation in Donbass, writes The New York Times.
“The world is increasingly concerned about the inexperience of Zelensky and his entourage, which can have dire consequences, and not only for his country. Any careless step can lead to a war that threatens to seriously worsen relations between Russia and the United States,” said journalist Andrew Kramer.
Zelensky has surrounded himself with representatives of the entertainment industry who are devoted to him, instead of specialists who understand Kiev’s domestic and foreign policies, he explained.
According to Kramer, the administration of the Ukrainian leader may be the first in history to come to power on such a scale directly from a TV show.
“Before becoming a politician, Zelensky was a television actor and comedian. He appointed people from his sphere to key positions, even putting them at the head of the SBU,” the journalist said.
Recently, the West has been increasingly claiming that Russia is preparing an “invasion” of Ukraine. Moscow denies this, emphasizing that no one is threatened, and the movement of troops on its own territory should not bother anyone. As the Kremlin has repeatedly noted, such attacks are used as an excuse to place more military equipment and NATO forces on the Russian borders.
