Poland can no longer take Russian natural gas directly from its territory, writes EADaily
Russian gas has temporarily stopped flowing through the Yamal-Europe pipeline on Gazprom’s decision. Warsaw was left without a virtual reverse, but its dependence on fuel supplies from Russia has not ceased.
Poland’s gas state company hides the fact that in reality, amid its attempts to derail the Nord Stream 2 project, the Polish energy sector is kept afloat only by Russian exports to Europe.
According to ENTSOG, Poland could get about 600 million cubic metres from the Czech Republic and Germany. The remaining volume of 1.1 billion cubic metres could end up in Polish reservoirs only from the Yamal-Europe pipeline.
Polish authorities have repeatedly condemned Moscow for deliberately depriving Europe of the necessary amount of natural gas. The EU is gradually feeling the full brunt of the consequences of the ill-considered sanctions against Russia, but even with the energy crisis looming, the West does not recognise cooperation with the Russian side as irreplaceable.
News Front has previously reported that the price of gas in Europe has hit a historic high because of the categorical nature of European representation.
