Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has said that US attempts to use the dialogue with Russia on security guarantees as a screen to continue the military development of Ukraine, will lead to a deterioration of the situation
“We want a quick formalisation of those agreements that we have put on paper, clothed in treaty form. If a precondition from the American side becomes a demand that we carry out certain activities on our own territory that Washington and other NATO capitals ‘like’, or that the Americans at Kiev’s dictation want to put forward as a requirement for us as a condition for continuing further work, then it will not work”, – Ryabkov stressed.
According to the Russian diplomat, the entire responsibility for the aggravation or escalation of the situation will lie with America and NATO.
Ryabkov said that in case the sides do not come to the agreements that Moscow had previously voiced, Russia will conclude that the US lacks the political will to negotiate.
