US names main motivation for NATO’s threatening behaviour

Thus, according to The American Conservator journalist Bradley Delvin, it lies in the desire to maintain its importance, generous funding and high positions of commanders-in-chief

The author noted that now that the alliance cannot substantially expand eastwards in Europe, except to offer Ukraine full membership (a process that has already begun), it has directed its activities at increasing its already established presence near Russia’s borders.

In analysing statements from NATO leaders, Delvin concluded that NATO was prepared to “inflate the threat posed by Russia” to an irresponsible scale, despite US President Biden’s desire to avoid conflict.

“Biden continually tries to allay fears that the US and its NATO allies are fast approaching war with Russia if it takes further action against Ukraine. However, the president’s assurances are regularly refuted by members of his own administration at the State Department, not to mention US and NATO military officials who continue to voice recklessly bellicose foreign policy views”, –  the reporter said.

He is sure that NATO policy and motives have not changed since the old days of the Soviet Union against which the alliance forces were officially aimed.

“Beating the drums of war helps NATO build strength and ensures that the US will continue to throw billions of dollars at a growing crowd of those who cannot secure themselves and constantly inflate the threat posed by Russia, thereby creating the risk of a full-scale war”, –  the author of the piece summed up.
