Ukraine has filed a complaint with the European Commission against Gazprom

The European Commission has received a request from Ukraine’s Naftogaz to oblige Gazprom to sell large quantities of gas to the European Union with pumped through Ukraine

“We have received the complaint and will assess it on the basis of our standard procedures”, –  said EC spokesperson Maria Tsonyi.

In the complaint, Ukraine accused Gazprom of creating artificial obstacles that allegedly led to an energy crisis in Europe. Naftohaz believes that the purpose of these actions is to create an artificial gas shortage and pressure on the EU to speed up the launch of Nord Stream 2. The company believes that such actions by Gazprom led to a sharp increase in gas prices in Europe.
