Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis said that NATO countries should not discuss Russia’s security proposals
According to the Minister, the situation in the region is not in favor of withdrawal of troops of the alliance from Western Europe, on the contrary, it requires increasing the number of troops.
“We should not start any negotiations on what has been proposed by Russia… The only negotiations we want to observe are about the possibility of strengthening security guarantees in the region, which starts from the Black Sea in Romania and reaches Estonia”, – Landsbergis said.
The Lithuanian foreign minister called for the strengthening of NATO forces in the region, as well as for military assistance to Ukraine.
Earlier Lithuanian Defence Minister Arvydas Anušauskas said that Vilnius was ready to support Ukraine by all available means, including the transfer of lethal weapons.
