Also, German government spokesperson Steffen Hebeestreit said that they are ready for any format of negotiations with Russia
“In principle, we want to contribute to de-escalation and we are ready for any negotiations”, – Hebeestrait said.
According to him, none of the possible avenues for dialogue should be closed. The politician focused on the negotiations in the Normandy format involving France, Ukraine and Russia.
Also German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock called for negotiations with Moscow and stressed her concerns.
“Actions to achieve dialogue should be directed by Berlin ‘down to the last millimetre. There is a need to talk, even if there are proposals which, from the FRG’s point of view, cannot form the basis of negotiations”, – Berbock added.
We reported earlier that the European Commission was imposing sanctions on Poland. The country has two months to rectify the situation.
