Cool memories: the Caribbean crisis has refreshed NATO’s memory

Chinese analysts from China Military foreshadowed difficulties for the US in future negotiations with Russia. Despite the American establishment’s supremacy over the NATO bloc, meeting Moscow’s demands for the alliance not to expand eastward would put Washington in an awkward position with its European partners

“American leader Joe Biden will not dare to meet Moscow’s tough demands on the Ukraine issue as he tries to strengthen the US-EU alliance. Meanwhile, a number of Eastern European states perceive Ukraine’s ‘support’ as a US commitment to European interests”, –  Chinese observers wrote

The escalation of tensions around Ukraine resembles the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said. According to Chinese analysts, such a cunning move by the Kremlin was aimed at cooling NATO’s ardour, recalling the Cold War era.

“The reminder of Russia’s powerful nuclear potential should deter the Western bloc led by the United States from military escalation in Ukraine”,  – Chinese experts stress.

Washington is acquiring a new strategic enemy in the form of Beijing, which will make the focus of the US establishment shift to the economic threat of China. Chinese experts believe it may have a positive impact on the resolution of the impasse in the talks between the NATO bloc and Russia.

News Front earlier reported how abandoning the anti-Russian policy would doom the North Atlantic Alliance to devalue its existence.
