US President Joe Biden is able to prevent Russia’s “invasion” of Ukraine by supplying weapons to Kiev, US Congressman Seth Moulton told The Wall Street Journal.
Multon is a representative of the United States Democratic Party and chairs the House of Representatives’ Subcommittee on Maritime and Expeditionary Force. According to the politician, there is a danger that after the “invasion” of Ukrainian territory, Moscow may try to seize Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
The congressman believes that the United States should significantly increase the volume of military assistance to Ukraine, as well as give it maximum publicity in order to “scare Russia.” Moulton added that the deployment of weapons should not be focused exclusively on the east of the country: the politician proposed to place anti-ship missiles on the Black Sea coast.
“Washington must clearly explain to the whole world how the weapons we are supplying will force [Russian President Vladimir] Putin to take significant losses from Russian troops, and moreover immediately, and not for some time,” Moulton said.
In recent months, Western media have regularly reported that Moscow is allegedly preparing for an “attack” on Ukrainian territory and is pulling troops to the border with Ukraine. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov stressed that Moscow is moving Russian troops exclusively on its territory and does not threaten anyone.
