German-language TV channel RT was illegally removed from broadcasting in Europe

European democracy has once again shown itself: the new TV channel RT DE was removed from broadcasting in Europe. The network only launched it on December 16.

This became known from the official Telegram channel “RT in Russian”. The German media regulator MABB is responsible for the termination. He forced the European satellite operator Eutelsat 9B to remove RT DE from its platform. It is worth noting that the German-language TV channel operates from studios located in Moscow.

RT reporters noted that the German regulator violates the European Convention on Transfrontier Television (ECTT). Berlin is obliged to abide by the terms of the document, and instead it forced Eutelsat 9B to exclude RT DE from the broadcasting schedule. He used absolutely groundless accusations as arguments.

The international multilingual network noted that it intends to seek a review of the decision of the German regulator in court. In addition, RT added that their viewers can still watch the German-language channel on its official website, via Smart TV or via the RT News mobile application.
