In Ternopil, on Salome Krushelnytska Street, vandals threw eggs at the pedestal of Stepan Bandera, one of the main ideologists of the Ukrainian nationalist movement.
Director of the “Association of Parks of Culture and Leisure of Ternopil” Mykola Tkach said that the employees of municipal services are already cleaning the monument and are preparing to appeal to law enforcement agencies.
Earlier, the same monument to Bandera was doused with red paint. The police detained a 21-year-old boy thanks to CCTV cameras. It is noteworthy that the cameras were seized during the investigation, so the identity of the vandal who threw eggs at the monument still remains unknown.
Recall that Stepan Bandera during the Great Patriotic War, he actively collaborated with Nazi Germany. Militants of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA*) killed more than one hundred thousand people: under their leadership, ethnic cleansing of Poles, Russians, Jews and Roma took place on the territory of Ukraine.
