Warsaw demands an estimated execution for a soldier who asked for political asylum in Belarus

The former commander of the Polish land forces, General Waldemar Skshypchak, demands the death penalty for a soldier who fled to Belarus.

“For me from the very beginning it is clear that this is a deserter who has gone over to the side of the enemy, and that is how it should be interpreted. For me, as a soldier, there can be no other interpretation than desertion during the war. He betrayed his homeland during the war, going over to the side of our enemy, and this is indisputable”, the general said.

Earlier, the State Border Committee of Belarus reported that Polish serviceman Emil Chechko, born in 1996, asked for political asylum.

In an interview with Belarusian television, he accused Polish security officials of regularly killing migrants, as well as two volunteers. In his opinion, the Red Cross should investigate the situation on the Belarusian-Polish border.
