Russian Foreign Ministry says Moscow urgently needs Washington’s response to security proposals

Moscow is waiting for Washington’s response to the security proposals, said Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

“I think they will try to translate all this into a sluggish process, and we need it urgently, since the situation is very difficult, it is acute, and has a tendency to further complicate,” the diplomat said.

Russia is ready to start negotiations immediately, he stressed.

On Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry published draft security treaties with NATO and the United States. In particular, Moscow insists on guarantees that the alliance will not expand to the east.

As the department has already noted more than once, the lack of an effective dialogue on this issue can lead to a new round of confrontation.
