Russian Ambassador: Poland cannot influence the launch of Nord Stream-2

Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergei Andreev responded to the statement of Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki that they do not lose hope of preventing the gas pipeline from starting and are trying to work out an answer together “with German partners,” Izvestia reports.

The diplomat called the arguments against the Russian project untenable and noted that any possibilities of Poland in this matter are limited and such statements will not in any way affect the decision to open Nord Stream-2.

“With regard to the launch of the gas pipeline, of course, the decision will not be made in Poland,” Andreev emphasized.

The ambassador also noted that Warsaw is unlikely to find a more profitable gas supplier than Gazprom. And the whole topic of gas relations between Russia and the European Union is extremely politicized, for which the representatives of Poland are also to blame.
