Lithuania’s ruling party may be involved in preparing a coup in Ukraine

The Seimas of Lithuania has registered a bill on the creation of a commission to investigate the role of the ruling Union of the Fatherland – Lithuanian Christian Democrats party in organizing a coup d’etat in Ukraine.

The bill was developed after information appeared in the media about the possible involvement of Lithuania in organizing a coup in Ukraine. Since one of the conservatives was previously seen at a meeting of Zelensky’s opponents in Vilnius.

Media publications also said that Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov arrived in Vilnius in a private plane at the end of November. Soon after that, he was joined by former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov, ex-Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman, brother of the Mayor of Kiev Volodymyr Klitschko. They visited a restaurant where they celebrated the birthday of TV presenter Savik Shuster. Among the participants in the celebration was a member of the Lithuanian Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs Emmanuelis Zingeris.

Earlier, in November, Zelensky said that he had received information about the preparation of a coup d’etat in the country. According to the Ukrainian leader, the Ukrainian oligarch Akhmetov is involved in this.

In turn, the Ukrainian businessman denied the accusations of the President of Ukraine about allegedly involving him in the preparation of a coup d’etat.

The conclusion of the commission and the draft resolution must be submitted to the Seimas before January 15, 2022.

Let us remind you that Western countries constantly declare about the “Russian threat”, although the Kremlin has repeatedly stressed that it is not going to attack anyone. Meanwhile, NATO countries are strengthening their groupings near the Russian borders, justifying their actions by the possible “aggression” of Russia.
