Gas price in Europe is growing again and exceeded $1700

Data from the London stock exchange ICE show that gas futures in Europe rose by almost 9% and exceeded $1,700 per thousand cubic meters.

So, the cost of January futures on the Dutch TTF index at the opening of the trading session already amounted to $1,710.3 at the beginning of trading and then immediately increased to almost $1,740, which is 8.7% higher than the estimated Friday price of $1,600.

Let us remind you that the price of gas began to grow since last Thursday, having risen from a minimum of $1450 to above $1700 per thousand cubic meters.

Such a jump in prices was provoked by the words of the head of the Federal Network Agency of Germany, Jochen Homann, that decisions on certification of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will probably not be made in the first half of 2022.
