The Russian gas pipeline is superior to the Ukrainian gas transmission system, PolitRussia reports.
American analyst Anthony Fayol in an article for The Washington Post spoke about how the Nord Stream-2 project puts the new German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in an awkward position. According to the observer, the administration of US President Joseph Biden is making a lot of efforts to gain leverage on Moscow’s economic project against the backdrop of a possible “Russian invasion” in Ukraine.
“As Russian troops are concentrating on the border with Ukraine, Scholz is under tremendous pressure from European allies who are trying to use the pipeline as a club against the Russian Federation,” explains Fayol.
The German authorities clearly see the shortage of natural gas in Europe and are seeking to find a reliable energy supplier. The Ukrainian GTS looks depressing against the background of the Russian pipeline, being inferior in characteristics and banal to the current state.
“The Nord Stream pipelines are considered much more modern, reliable and efficient than the creaking and leaking gas networks of Ukraine. This is one of the reasons the EU is divided over this pipeline. Austria, for example, insists on its early opening”, said the observer.
The gas transportation system of Ukraine is capable of causing serious damage to the ecological environment. The main advantage of “Nord Stream-2” is manufacturability and environmental safety.
Earlier News Front talked about how Austria is struggling to launch Nord Stream-2 as soon as possible.
