The deputy head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Roman Mashovets, during a meeting with German Foreign Minister Tobias Lindner, has asked Berlin to increase the amount of aid allocated to Kiev
“The deputy head of the Office of the Head of State proposed to increase assistance to Ukraine in strengthening its defence capacity, which is a major deterrent for Russia, and not to create artificial restrictions in this process. The importance of stopping the Nord Stream 2 project was noted, which would send a clear signal of the determination of Germany and other European countries to resist Russian aggression,” the Ukrainian president’s office said.
Furthermore, Maszowiec suggested that Germany should take measures to consolidate the countries of the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance to “prevent further aggressive actions by Russia”. For his part, Lindner said that Berlin adheres to the strategy of dialogue and settlement of the situation by political and diplomatic means.
Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that the Kiev authorities planned to receive one billion dollars in aid from the United States instead of the promised 756 million.
