The chairman of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Yuriy Vitrenko, said that Russian warships allegedly do not allow seismic exploration of the Black Sea shelf, where Kiev can produce gas.
“We have the Black Sea, there are huge deposits of natural gas. We are unable to do a normal seismic survey due to the Russian warships that prevent the Norwegian company from doing this survey. They are doing this so that we, as a country, cannot provide ourselves with our own gas by increasing production”, Vitrenko said on the air of the “1 + 1” TV channel.
Earlier it became known that the exploration of the Black Sea shelf, which is being carried out by the Norwegian company Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS), has reached the stage of geological exploration. Recall that there are about 30 discovered gas fields in the Black Sea, which have significant potential.
Earlier, Secretary of the Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said that Russia allegedly uses against Kiev not only “military aggression, but also the” fifth column “inside the country.” In his opinion, Kiev’s allies must join forces to “effectively counter the Russian Federation.”
