Bundestag deputy introduced a proposal to recognize Crimea as Russian

The German parliamentarian proposed to improve relations with Russia, FAN reports.

In the interests of Germany, it is necessary to recognize the Crimean peninsula as part of the territory of Russia, in order to build good-neighborly relations between the two countries. This initiative was taken by Eugene Schmidt, a member of the Bundestag International Affairs Committee from the Alternative for Germany party.

“The normalization of relations between our countries does not serve the interests of either the United States or the NATO bloc, therefore they are whipping up the atmosphere around Russia, and Crimea has become only a formal reason for imposing sanctions and exerting pressure,” Schmidt said.

According to the German politician, Crimea has become much better with Russian support, as evidenced by the high value of the rights of local residents. Also, Schmidt noted that he made a working trip with a delegation to the peninsula.
