Lithuania suffers heavy losses because of US sanctions against Belarus

It’s become known that Lithuanian Railways continues to transit Belarusian fertilizers, which are under U.S. sanctions

The head of the Lithuanian Railways has to resign because of this, said Chairman of the Board of LZD Kęstutis Šliužas.

Earlier, the head of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry and the Minister of Transport had already resigned. The resignation of several ministers from their posts is fraught with the likelihood of the resignation of the entire government of the country.

Federation Council member Alexey Pushkov commented on the situation with the Western sanctions against Minsk.

“Sanctions always have a boomerang effect and are a dangerous thing, especially for small economies, because they are fraught with serious consequences. In Lithuania, they have already caused a governmental crisis. The next step is the loss of the Lithuanian economy from sanctions by China”, –  Pushkov wrote in his Telegram channel.
