Kiev expects Turkish President Recep Erdogan to visit Ukraine early next year. This was said by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba
According to him, Erdogan is expected to take part in the Ukraine-Turkey strategic council, the Korrespondent website has reported. At the same time, the foreign minister believes that the Turkish leader’s visit is important for “resolving the Crimea issue”.
Erdogan will chair the forum together with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. They also intend to sign several agreements. It is likely that the Turkish head will also raise the topic of Donbas, as he has previously proposed to take the role of a mediator in the conflict.
It is worth noting that Kiev’s hopes for Turkey’s participation in the “return” of Crimea are unfounded. Firstly, Ankara is not interested in helping the Ukrainian regime in this problem at all. And besides, Erdogan wouldn’t mind seizing the peninsula himself. He has long had imperial ambitions.
