The number of reported cases of coronavirus infection has reached 50.1 million, according to Johns Hopkins University
“Since the beginning of the pandemic, 50,119,574 cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in the United States, with 798,710 people in the country dying from the effects of the disease”, – the organisation said.
It is also noted that since the beginning of December more than 100 thousand daily infections of COVID-19 are registered in the USA. According to experts, huge increase of incidence of disease was influenced by celebration of Thanksgiving Day on November 25 in the United States, when millions of people in the country went to the celebrations to their relatives and friends.
Earlier, a record increase in deaths from the effects of the coronavirus infection was recorded in Germany. The former Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, has called on citizens to be vaccinated with all available vaccines. The Russian Direct Investment Fund has said that Sputnik V, developed by specialists of the Gamaleya Research Center, is the safest vaccine in the world.
