Poroshenko says he is proud of the war in Donbass

Former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he was proud of the fact that he gave the order dated June 30, 2014 to end the ceasefire in Donbass, writes “Krasnaya Vesna”.

Recall that it was on June 30, 2014 that Poroshenko, who at that time was the head of state, gave the order to end the ceasefire in Donbass and start an offensive operation on Slavyansk.

“Putin will not stop at Ukraine. He will go as far as you let him. Therefore, I am proud that on June 30, 2014, when I was president, I gave the order to our army to strike back in the East of Ukraine”, Poroshenko said in an interview with the German newspaper “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”.

In addition, in an interview with a German newspaper, Poroshenko said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin allegedly intends to oust the North Atlantic Alliance and the European Union from Eastern Europe, as well as “destroy the values, societies and democracies of the West.”

Despite the aggressive statements by Ukrainian politicians, the country’s residents are in favor of an open and direct dialogue between Kiev and Moscow. According to a survey conducted by the Sociological Group “Rating”, 56% of Ukrainians support direct negotiations with Russia.
