World Bank to give Ukraine $150m for COVID-19 vaccination

According to the bank’s press service, the additional financing will help Ukraine procure 16.5 million doses of vaccines, enough for about 20% of the population

“The Board of Executive Directors of the World Bank has approved an additional $150 million in financing for the COVID-19 Emergency Response and Vaccination Project in Ukraine”, –  the statement said.

These funds, the bank added, will help prevent, detect and respond to threats caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and will also help strengthen Ukraine’s national health system. Also according to the bank another $30 million will be used to fund the vaccination campaign, and to purchase equipment to ensure vaccine cooling and waste management.
