“Sorting out Russia”: Zakharova mocked Nuland’s statement about Sverdlovsk and Yekaterinburg

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova ironically mocked the mistake of U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, who considers Sverdlovsk and Yekaterinburg different cities

Earlier, Nuland made the mistake during her speech in the US Senate. The deputy secretary of state said that Ukraine wants to be more like “Paris and Berlin than Sverdlovsk or Yekaterinburg”.

“A week before this revelation, Victoria Nuland said that many Russians would like to live in a country like Ukraine. That’s the way to sort out Russia”, – Zakharova said on her Telegram channel.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Kiev had no plans to abandon European and Euro-Atlantic integration for the sake of improving relations with Russia.

It is noteworthy that other US administration officials have a rather poor grasp of geography as well. White House press secretary Jen Psaki became notorious for mentioning “the shores of Belarus,” to which the US Sixth Fleet could allegedly be sent in case Minsk invades Ukraine.
