Media: US sent 30 Javelin anti-tank systems to Ukraine

Under the approved aid package, the US delivered 30 Javelin anti-tank missile systems and 180 missiles for them to Ukraine in October, TASS reported, citing Pentagon spokesman Lt Col Anton Semelroth

“The $60 million package announced on September 1 included 30 Javelin command and control launchers and 180 missiles. The Javelin were delivered to Ukraine on 23 October”, –  the agency’s source said.

He said the United States has allocated more than $450m in aid to Ukraine for security tasks in 2021, part of our continued commitment to support Ukraine’s ability to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In total, since 2014, the United States has allocated over $2.5 billion to Kyiv to support the Ukrainian army. In addition, the White House is sending instructors to Ukraine to train members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU). Thanks to the administration of former US President Donald Trump, Kiev has started to receive Javelin hit-and-run systems.

Despite Washington’s statements about its readiness to “support Ukraine’s sovereignty”, the country’s residents were disappointed with the “partnership” between Kiev and the United States. In their opinion, the White House will not send a US military contingent to Ukraine, as “the US is not fighting for the interests of a colony”.
