Russian Embassy advised the US Senator not to joke with calls to unleash a nuclear war

Russian diplomats reacted to the statement of the US Senator from the Republican Party Roger Wicker about the use of nuclear weapons against the Russian Federation. His threats came against the backdrop of an imaginary Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The Russian Embassy in Washington believes that such words are an extremely ill-considered step on the part of the United States. This is reported by Izvestia, referring to the page of the diplomatic mission in the social network Facebook.

Wicker spoke about Ukraine in an interview with Fox News and decided to add fuel to the fire. The West has been spreading a horror story about the imminent attack of Russia in the media space for a week. The senator turned to US President Joe Biden and advised him not to give up the opportunity to launch a nuclear strike against the Russian Federation.

Moscow’s mission responded by asking Wicker to study a joint statement by Russian leader Vladimir Putin and US President Joe Biden. In June this year, at the Geneva summit, they reaffirmed their commitment to the principle of non-nuclear war.

Diplomats say Wicker, who is in the legislature, should be more circumspect in what he says. You cannot take the nuclear threat as a joke and so freely call on the head of state to unleash a conflict that could lead to the destruction of humanity.
