By the end of this year, the Russian and American sides will discuss the visa issue. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the first consultations will take place back in 2021.
Deputy head of the diplomatic department Yevgeny Ivanov said that at least one round of negotiations on this topic will take place in December. His words are reported by the Izvestia edition.
Earlier, the situation with visas was commented on by the Russian Consul General in Houston, Alexander Zakharov. He emphasized that positive dynamics were outlined in it. Moscow may well expect calls for dialogue to be heeded and broader negotiations to take place with better results.
Visa differences create obstacles to the development of relations between the United States and Russia. The diplomats of the two countries are forced to reduce their presence, which means that bilateral contacts are also diminishing. All this, quite expectedly, leads to new disagreements and the destruction of still existing ties.
