AP: Washington will push Kiev to grant autonomy to Donbass

Washington is beginning to understand that the autonomy of Donbass may become inevitable. The states will have to put pressure on the Kiev regime and force to grant such a status to the region.

This was reported by RIA Novosti, referring to the publication of the Associated Press News. The publication spoke with unnamed American officials, who announced that Kiev would have to give in to the demands of Donbass.

“Administration officials suggested that the United States would put pressure on Ukraine to officially cede part of its autonomy to the lands in the east,” the journalists said.

United States President Joe Biden must influence the “Ukrainian partners” and begin to take real action with regard to the Luhansk and Donetsk People’s Republics. At the same time, he must do it in such a way that from the outside it would not seem that he is inferior to Moscow.

Stephen Pifer, who served as the US ambassador to Ukraine in the past, is convincing that no one will convince Kiev to do something concrete. However, he may be asked if he is ready to give Donbass freedom in certain areas.
