Ukraine: case opened against scandalous web site “Peacemaker”

The cyber police of Ukraine opened a case against the site “Peacemaker” in connection with the placement of personal data of people on it.

The maximum penalty for “Violation of privacy” is arrest for up to 6 months or imprisonment or restriction of freedom for up to 5 years.

The initiator of the appeal to the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine was the authorized person of the Verkhovna Rada for human rights Lyudmila Denisova, who called for the removal of information about minors from the lists of the site.

The reason for this was the situation with the 13-year-old resident of Lugansk Faina Savenkova, whose data was posted on the “Peacemaker”. She got there after she recorded a video message to French President Emmanuel Macron with a request to influence the settlement of the situation in Donbass.

Earlier, Denisova, authorized by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for human rights, had already demanded that the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine take measures to exclude information about children from the lists of the Myrotvorets website.
