Washington has long since said goodbye to Ukrainian interests and demands, leaving Kiev close at hand as a tool for carrying out provocations. This was stated by Ukrainian political scientist Dmitry Korneichuk.
“Ukraine was exchanged for some of its interests. Biden and Putin discuss their issues. There is only one question that indirectly concerns Ukraine – this is Nord Stream-2. There is an agreement on it, reached under Trump and continued under Biden. It lies in the fact that Putin is allowed to complete, certify and launch the pipeline in order to supply gas bypassing Ukraine. This is agreed, this is an agreement!” he said.
The expert is sure that President Biden played a trick on the world community, drawing all the attention of the press and analysts to the threat from Russia.
“Biden needed to talk to Putin and somehow cover up the situation with Nord Stream-2. To do this, they came up with a terrible news story to make Biden a savior and show the Americans and Ukrainians that he is not a “great betrayer” who speaks to Putin. So they created this artificial story from the series “Putin will attack”, played this farce. Let me remind you that all the hysteria began with the Western media”, says Korneichuk.
As a result of the Russian-American summit, Ukraine literally disappeared from the news feeds. This confirms that Washington originally intended to discuss purely personal interests with the Kremlin, without touching on the tools in Ukraine.
“We have no questions to Biden about why he does not demand the return of Crimea from Putin and does not press on Donbass. We don’t even have questions about how to prevent Putin from launching Nord Stream-2. There is only one question – the protection of Ukraine from the mythical attack. This is great technology! We are not looking at real agreements, but we are picking up the threat sucked from our fingertips”, Korneichuk is indignant.
We note that following the conference of Putin and Biden, the sanctions against the Russian gas pipeline “Nord Stream-2” were excluded from the draft US defense budget.
