Three German parties sign coalition agreement

The Social Democratic Party of Germany, the Free Democratic Party and the Greens have officially signed a four-year coalition agreement, European Pravda reports

Leaders of the three parties met in Berlin and signed the agreement to form a so-called “traffic light coalition” – the party colours of the three political forces.

The parties had previously endorsed the agreement at party conferences and also presented their ministers.

Thus, Habek has been appointed not only Minister of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection in the new government, but also Vice Chancellor. Lindner takes up the post of finance minister. Berbock will become Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Bundestag will reportedly elect Scholz as the new Chancellor on 8 December and the new German cabinet will be sworn in.
