America has lost the battle with Russia over NSP2 – political analyst

Analyst Rostislav Ishchenko has described how Russia managed to emerge victorious from the confrontation with America over the Nord Stream 2 gas project

According to the political analyst, Nord Stream 2 is a unique phenomenon. The pipeline is beneficial to all its participants despite the downtime. America lost the battle with Russia over the pipeline because the pressure it put on the project resulted in enriching Russia.

In his view, the US, by constantly attacking the pipeline, provoked prices in Europe to rise to abnormal levels. As a result, the price of gas on European exchanges doubled and the price of the resource in contracts with Gazprom also almost doubled.

Ischenko predicts that with the decommissioning of the NSP2 pipeline, Moscow will be able to fully recoup its investment in a year, if not sooner.
