Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his American counterpart Anthony Blinken had an argument over the situation in Ukraine.
During a gala dinner in Stockholm, which took place before the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council, the diplomats raised their voices to discuss the situation in the country. This is reported by TASS, referring to the Bloomberg agency.
Lavrov made a speech about Ukraine. In particular, he spoke about the events of 2014, which he called a coup d’etat. In addition, he drew attention to the fact that the European Union and NATO member states are doing everything possible to destroy any deviation from the given Russophobic course and in every possible way to intimidate Russia.
The US Secretary of State took Lavrov’s speech sharply and in response tried once again to shift the responsibility for the deaths on the Maidan onto “forces loyal to the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.” Blinken also did not forget to stand up for the North Atlantic Alliance and said that it serves only defensive purposes. Unfortunately, he did not explain how they are connected with the constant approach to the Russian borders and the buildup of NATO forces there.
