Poland’s Climate and Environment Minister Anna Moskva calls for an anti-monopoly investigation against Gazprom.
In her opinion, Gazprom is to blame for the rise in gas prices in Europe, so an antitrust investigation should be carried out against the Russian company by the European Commission. This statement was made by the Minister of Climate and Environment of Poland Anna Moscow.
“One of the effective methods of combating the powerless actions of Gazprom is to increase the number of importers,” Anna Moskva said.
She also said that an infrastructure is being created to diversify gas supplies to Poland.
“In this situation, it is also necessary to immediately take steps that will force Gazprom to adhere to the principles of functioning of the European gas market,” the minister said.
Earlier, Polish journalist Andrzej Kublik said that the decline in gas transit to Europe indicates that the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline is unnecessary. In his opinion, Gazprom is thus “manipulating the situation on the global gas market, indirectly influencing the economies of European countries and the mood in society.”
