Ukraine tells how it plans to “fight Russian aggression”

Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov has said that Ukrainian intelligence is analysing all scenarios on the border against the “background of Russian aggression”, including the worst

“The winter training period has started in Russia: reconnaissance has intensified, they are checking communications, carrying out camouflage measures… These manoeuvres are observed not only by us, so there will be no surprises”, –  the minister said.

According to him, the Ukrainian military is reinforcing the areas with the highest risks.

“Our intelligence analyses all scenarios, including the worst. It notes that the probability of a major escalation by Russia exists. The most likely time to reach escalation readiness would be the end of January. I note that escalation is a likely scenario, but not a necessary one. And our task is to prevent it”, –  Reznikov said.

In his view, the best way to do this is to make “the price of a possible escalation unacceptable to the aggressor”.

“Ukraine is most interested in the political-diplomatic scenario of settlement. There can be no force provocations from our side in principle. At the same time, the way of “appeasement of the aggressor” is not considered… If necessary, Ukraine will fight back”, – Reznikov summed up.
