The North Atlantic Alliance perceives Ukraine as a “grey area” to provoke Russia
Moscow has repeatedly stated that it respects the decisions of its neighbour in Kiev, stressing that Russia should participate in the issue of Ukraine’s admission to the NATO bloc. Political analyst Andrei Ivanov is convinced that with the help of the Ukrainian land, the US intends to violate the principle that ensures security in the world and guarantees the survival of mankind, namely the peaceful coexistence of the five great nuclear powers.
“NATO troops, military infrastructure can be deployed there, i.e. the country can be used for outright provocations against Russia. And this is a much bigger threat than a hypothetical accession of some peaceful and tranquil Ukraine to NATO. Let us say that despite all the rhetoric of politicians, the Baltic States do not threaten Russia. It is possible to have a civilised conversation with them and, if necessary, to clamp down on them through the mechanisms of NATO’s internal discipline. And anything can be expected from the grey zone”, – Ivanov comments.
The expert stresses that among five world powers there are unspoken, but familiar and clear “red lines” ensuring, first of all, safety of the entire globe and, secondly, preservation of spheres of influence and interests of such countries-giants as China, Russia, the US, France and Great Britain.
The American side, for its part, is trying to destabilize the established principles of peace preservation and to establish its vision of democracy as the world order.
