French President Emmanuel Macron does not have the highest opinion of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. In a private conversation he called him a clown
The reason for this attitude was Brexit, Izvestia reports, citing The Guardian. More specifically, Macron is annoyed by Johnson’s attempts to “find a scapegoat for the failure of Brexit”.
The French leader was quoted by Le Canard Enchaîné magazine. The journalists called Johnson’s administration a “circus” and rebuked the prime minister for trying to make himself look like a victim. In this way he wanted to avoid being blamed for Britain’s failed exit from the European Union.
“Bojo talks to me at full power, things are going well, we discuss things like adults and then he gives us a hard time before or after in some tasteless way. And it’s always the same circus”, – the French president said.
Macron complained about Johnson’s behaviour after a phone call about the death of a group of migrants off the French coast. The British leader, he said, had behaved in a vulgar manner.
