A total of 67,186 new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in Germany in the past 24 hours, with 446 deaths, a record number in the past nine months
The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported that the highest number of deaths from the effects of coronavirus infection was recorded on 20 February, with 490 people dying that day. Experts believe the number of deaths from COVID-19 will increase in the coming days as Germany has recently recorded peak infections.
It is also noted that mortality from the coronavirus is now much lower than during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, which occurred at the end of 2020. Experts explain this by the high rate of vaccination: at present, at least 68% of the population in Germany is fully vaccinated against coronavirus.
