The Federation Council of the Russian Federation drew attention to the statement made by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Alliance countries in Riga.
He said the situation in Ukraine “remains volatile and unpredictable.” He, in fact, blamed Russia for this, Izvestia reports.
Senator from Crimea Olga Kovitidi, in an interview with the resource, noted that the anti-Russian political hysteria, initiated by the United States and NATO, is designed to mask their active militaristic actions near the Russian Federation.
She stressed that the unsubstantiated accusations of Russia that it is allegedly building up its forces on the border with Ukraine, sound against the background of the fact that military forces and equipment from the United States and Great Britain are approaching Russian territory.
“In Russia, from time immemorial, they know that the loudest shouts“ stop the thief ”are those who are not clean on their own. It is obvious that the anti-Russian accusations voiced by the US and its NATO military instruments are just another political bluff of the North Atlantic Alliance, which is accustomed to shifting its crimes onto the shoulders of others”, said Kovitidi.
Summing up, she called on political opponents to abandon the idea of shifting responsibility to Russia for crimes for which it is not to blame. Moscow has proved many times that it knows how to respond to any challenges and threats. In addition, Kovitidi said that if the conflict did break out, the United States would be to blame.
