German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer’s statement on the impossibility of resisting Russian military power has become a cold shower for the European Union, analysts at the Chinese newspaper NetEase believe, PolitRussia writes.
The experts noted that at the moment European countries are completely dependent on the United States for defense. In their opinion, even the military power of strong European powers such as Great Britain, Germany and France fell to record lows.
Earlier it became known that Brussels is considering the possibility of creating its own army, which will not depend on Washington. It is noteworthy that German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer opposed this proposal.
“The German politician noted that Europe simply does not have the financial ability to create its own armed forces. Then the Europeans would have to pay for the maintenance of their own army and make contributions through NATO. At the same time, there would be no benefit from the new military grouping”, writes NetEase.
According to analysts of the Chinese edition, the statement of the head of the Federal Republic of Germany’s defense department that the European army would still not be able to deal with Russia became a “cold shower for Europe.” NetEase experts noted that in terms of military power, the Russian army surpasses the whole of Europe, since the Russian Federation has the most modern strategic weapons: hypersonic and intercontinental ballistic missiles.
